Built on Ice. Forged in the Mill.

Three decades of Papermakers hockey in the heart of Wisconsin.

Where It All Began

Mosinee, Wisconsin is a mill town — a place where people work hard, show up early, and take pride in what they build. It's no surprise that same spirit found its way onto the ice.

The Mosinee Papermakers hockey club traces its roots to the mid-1990s, when a group of local players came together to compete in adult amateur hockey. Named after the paper mills that defined the town's identity and economy, the Papermakers quickly became a fixture in the regional hockey community.

From the beginning, the team drew players from Mosinee and the surrounding Marathon County area — guys who grew up skating on frozen ponds and backyard rinks, who learned the game the old-fashioned way.

The Papermakers Identity

That ethos defines how the Papermakers play. Physical, relentless, and proud. Win or lose, they leave everything on the ice — and they always represent Mosinee.

The Great Lakes Hockey League

The Great Lakes Hockey League (GLHL) is one of the premier adult amateur hockey leagues in the Upper Midwest, bringing together teams from across Wisconsin and neighboring states.

The league is known for its competitive play, passionate fan bases, and deep roots in the hockey communities of small and mid-sized towns throughout the region. Games are played at local arenas, keeping the sport close to the communities that love it.

GLHL teams compete in a regular season schedule followed by playoffs, with the league champion earning bragging rights as the best adult amateur hockey club in the Great Lakes region.
